FEBRUARY FLEW BY

Chicago closes out the month of February with three games this week, which includes two tilts at the Allstate Arena against Abbotsford (Wednesday) and Rockford (Sunday); the Wolves share the third-highest home winning percentage in the Western Conference at .660 (14-6-2-3).

WOLVES HEADLINES

--- Kevin Connauton: Paced the team with 5 helpers and 5 points in three games last week, which included back-to-back 2 assist nights on Feb. 16 and 17 ... Ranks second among Chicago defensemen and third overall on the team with 14 assists and holds second among team blueliners and shares fifth on the Wolves with 17 points in 43 games this season ... Notched 8 points (G, 7A) in his last seven tilts after collecting 9 points (2G, 7A) in his first 36 outings this year

--- Bill Sweatt: Tallied his fourth game-winning goal of the season on Feb. 16, which shares the team lead and sixth in the AHL ... Ranks fourth on Chicago with 10 goals and is tied for fifth with 17 points in 39 contests this year ... Has bagged a goal in four of his last eight contests

--- Michael Davies: Notched 2 goals and 3 points in three matchups last week ... Ranks fifth on Chicago with 9 goals and has earned 15 points in 30 games this season ... Amassed 5 markers and 7 points in his last seven tilts after accruing 4 goals and 8 points in his first 23 contests this season

--- Nathan Longpre: Tallied 2 points (G, A) in three games last week, which included his first marker since Oct. 19 ... Registered 11 points (4G, 7A) in 32 games this year during his second professional season ... Missed 12 games due to injury from Dec. 31 to Feb. 4

WOLF TRACKS

--- The Wolves have posted a 10-4-1-1 record in their last 16 games (since losing players to the end of the NHL lockout on Jan. 6) to move into a tie for eighth place in the Western Conference playoff standings; Chicago sits in second place in the Midwest Division with 55 points in 47 tilts (24-16-4-3); the team’s 47 games are tied for the fewest-played in the AHL and it holds at least two games in hand on 12 of the other 14 teams in the Western Conference.

--- Chicago has bagged a power-play goal in 10 of its last 11 home games, including each of its last seven tilts in Rosemont (14 of 47); the Wolves, who ranked 25th in the AHL on the man-advantage on Jan. 1, now holds 10th in the league with a 17.6 conversion rate on the power play this year (33 of 187).

--- The Wolves are averaging 3.38 goals per game in eight tilts during the month of February and they have been held to two goals or fewer just once in those contests; overall, Chicago is scoring 2.77 goals per game this year, which ranks 16th in the AHL.

--- Thirty-nine players have suited up for the Wolves through 47 games this season, one more than the team dressed for the entire 2011-12 campaign.

--- Wolves forward Tim Miller will visit the Villa Park Public Library, 305 S. Ardmore Ave., at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, as part of the team’s “Read to Succeed” program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E. Inc. Members of the squad will make more than 20 library visits throughout the Chicago area this season for the program, which has reached more than 625,000 children since its inception in 1995.

--- The Wolves held a two-goal lead after 30 minutes of play but couldn’t hold it as they dropped a 5-4 shootout decision to the San Antonio Rampage at the Allstate Arena
--- Forwards Michael Davies (G, A) and Stefan Schneider (G, A) paced a pack of four Wolves with multiple points
--- Goaltender Matt Climie kicked out 34 of 38 shots in regulation and overtime and one of three attempts in the shootout

Saturday, Feb. 16

--- The Wolves snapped a two-game slide with a 3-1 win over the Lake Erie Monsters at the Allstate Arena
--- Forwards Michael Davies, Bill Sweatt, and Guillaume Desbiens lit the lamp for Chicago
--- Goaltender Matt Climie stopped 29 of 30 shots

Thursday, Feb. 14

--- The Wolves rallied from a 3-1 deficit to earn a point in the standings but it was the Charlotte Checkers notching the overtime winner and a 4-3 victory at the Allstate Arena
--- Forwards Andrew Gordon, Anton Rodin, and Darren Haydar potted markers for Chicago
--- Goaltender Matt Climie kicked out 20 shots in regulation and overtime
