MATSON completed his senior season at the University of Minnesota (WCHA) on Thursday when the Golden Gophers were defeated 6-1 by Boston College in the NCAA Frozen Four Semifinals.
The 23-year-old forward ranked eighth on Minnesota with 23 points (8G, 15A) in 43 outings as serving as team captain this year. Overall, the Mound, Minn., native amassed 21 goals, 21 assists, and 42 points in 108 career games with the Golden Gophers spanning four seasons (2008-12).
